In a federally funded initiative, DARPA is testing a flexible exoskeleton that has been developed for use by American servicemen and women. Rather than the "Iron Man" version of an exoskeleton, the direction instead has been toward flexibility. All I know is that, as a former Infantry grunt, I wouldn't have minded a little electronic help with the rucksack.
